September 2005

London GAA yearbook
27th September 2005: The London County Board is producing a yearbook for the 2005 season and is asking every club to contribute something to it. If you have any suggestions for what we could include please let Frances know by Saturday either by phone, in person or via the club email address.

Underage championship fixtures confirmed
27th September 2005: The dates for the remaining underage championship fixtures have been confirmed. See the fixtures page for full details... more>>>

U16s sail through to final
24th September 2005: The U16 team recorded an easy win over Eoghan Ruadh in the championship semi final yesterday winning by 8-11 to 1-4. They will now face Sean Treacys in the final on the 9th October.

Fixtures update
22nd September 2005: The Collins Cup semi final against St Gabriel's due to take place this Saturday has been postponed, new date to be advised asap. In the draw today, Kilburn Gaels were drawn out against Sean Treacys in the semi final of the Ryan Cup.

U16 Semi Final
18th September 2005: The U16 team will take to the field ahead of the Senior's match in the semi final of the Collins Cup this Saturday. Kilburn have been the in-form team this year at both U16 and minor, winning all five of their matches and demonstrating their superior skill. They will by no means be underestimating opponents Eoghan Ruadh , however, when they line out at the weekend. In their last meeting, Kilburn ran out winners by 3-12 to 1-2, but until half time were well held by the boys from Luton. Kilburn Gaels will go into the match as favourites, but the pressure will on the forwards to take their chances and ensure their passage to the U16 final for the sixth consecutive year. The throw-in is at 2pm and it would be a great boost to our lads to see some of the Senior players down to support the team.

Seniors bow out of Championship
18th September 2005: The Seniors came agonizingly close to securing a place in their first county final at Senior level, but just couldn't hold off the second half onslaught of the Murphy's. Kilburn began well and led at half time, but it was Fr Murphy's who showed that they could turn play into scores and did just enough to win by a point.

U12 and U16 championship semi finals postponed
15th September 2005: Unfortunately, due to both Thomas McCurtains and Eoghan Ruadh being unable to field, the U12 and U16 championship semi finals have had to be postponed. We hope to have the new dates for these fixtures confirmed early next week.

Underage training
7th September 2005: Training has resumed for the U12 and U14 teams. Saturday sessions will continue at 2pm in Gladstone Park until the middle of October. Wednesday night training will probably have to finish within the next couple of weeks due to lack of light so we are asking for a big effort from all players to try and attend at least one session a week. Both teams will be playing their championship semi-finals over the coming weeks and it is important that they are ready to give us the best possible chance of performing well.

Senior Championship replay
7th September 2005: Kilburn Gaels' Senior team will once again face Fr Murphy's in a bid to get to the championship final against Robert Emmetts. Following last Sunday's fine performance the team look in good shape to advance to the final but will be taking nothing for granted when they take to the field on Sunday 18th September... more>>>

Changes to underage fixtures
5th September 2005: Following the London Minor Board meeting tonight changes have had to be made to the U12 and U14 championship fixtures due to players from other clubs being unavailable. Full details are on the fixtures page... more >>>

Senior Championship Semi Finals
1st September 2005: The Senior team will take on Fr Murphy's in the first of the championship semi finals this Sunday 4th September at 2:30pm in Ruislip. The team have no players absent through holiday or injury and have an excellent chance of progressing to the next round. The other semi final sees Robert Emmetts take on Sean Treacys
