Juniors exit cup competition
29th October 2006: The Juniors exited the McCullough Cup at the hands of Cuchullains in Charlton today. Despite having to field a weakend side the Kilburn team played a strong first half and looked to have the beating of their South London opponents. A lack of concentration combined with a crucial failure to register scores in the second half, however, opened the way for Cuchullains to get back into the game and take victory by 1-6 to 0-7.

U16s make it five in a row
21st October 2006: Kilburn Gaels' U16s retained their provincial title when they overcame a young Erin go Bragh side in Birmingham today. Scores from Conor Lyons, Sean O'Toole, James Minihan and Declan Ruddy set Kilburn on their way in the opening half and from there they never really looked back. In the second half Ciaran Horan and JP O'Brien added their names to scoresheet as Kilburn stretched their lead over an Erin go Bragh side who simply could not keep pace with the experience and strength of the London champions. Aside from the scorers, Chris Henry and Ryan Scullion had excellent games in the half back line and Shane Murphy in goal kept a clean sheet, dealing well with the little that came his way. The U16s' last game of the season is the league final on Sunday 19th November against either Sean Treacys or Granuaille.

Mixed fortunes at Ruislip
15th October 2006: It was a day of mixed feelings for the club as the U18 and Senior teams took to the field in their respective finals. First up were the U18s who put on a good display of hurling in the club championship final against a weaker and less experienced Erin go Bragh side who struggled to make any real impression on the Kilburn team. Top performances from Conor Lyons, Sean O'Toole, Sean Howlin and captain Jimmy Delaney in the forwards helped Kilburn register a total of 18 scores while the half back line of Mark Healy, Thomas O'Neill and Chris Henry stood firm to deny the Warwickshire side any real chance of causing damage. Following the minor game the Kilburn Gaels' Seniors made their first county final appearance against last year's runners up, Robert Emmetts. Kilburn managed to keep pace with the Emmetts for the first thrity minutes to trail by just four points at half time but crucially failed to make use of the strong wind in their favour in the opening half. Emmetts made no such mistake in the second half as their experience came to the fore and they began to kill off any chance of a Kilburn comeback. The last fifteen minutes saw a total collapse in the Kilburn team as the Emmetts began to score for fun from all areas of the field and, only for some wayward shooting, could have inflicted far more damage on the Kilburn defence. Kilburn did manage to register a consolation goal with an excellent strike from Brian Tennyson in the dying minutes but it did little to alleviate the disappointment or the margin on the scoreboard as Emmetts took the Senior title by 2-15 to 1-4. Kilburn will have learnt a lot about their preparation, training and style of play this season, in particular from the final, and should enter the 2007 season a wiser and better equipped outfit ready to resume their challenge for the championship.
