Busy weekend for the club
17th May 2006: This coming weekend promises to be very busy for the club with teams involved in matches on five occasions. On Friday evening the U16s will finally be able to get their league campaign underway against Granuaille at 7:30pm in Greenford. The following day the U14 team will be involved in the British Provincial Hurling Tournament in Greenford competing against clubs from London, Warwickshire and Hertfordshire for the Provincial shield. Sunday sees the club set up residence in Greenford for the day with the U12s playing the second round of their league at 1pm, the Seniors playing their Collins Cup Quarter Final against Bros Pearse at the same time and then the U16s taking on Eoghan Ruadh in the league at 2:30. Please try and lend your support to all our teams this weekend.

Kilburn players do themselves justice in Belfast
14th May 2006: The Kilburn Gaels' representatives on the British U16 hurling team made a good account of themselves in Belfast on what was a difficult day for the squad. Having been seven points up against Monaghan the team folded after two quick goals against them to eventually lose by four points. In their second match against Cavan the British team managed to take just one score in 20 minutes and, were it not for some excellent defensive work by Kilburn's own James Minihan and Ryan Scullion, would have suffered more than just the four point defeat that saw them go out of the competition. Elsewhere on the team, Conor Lyons made a good effort in the forwards scoring two goals, Sean O'Toole worked well around the midfield to set up the few chances that Britain could muster and JP O'Brien put up a good fight in the backs.

U16 British representatives
10th May 2006: Best of luck to Conor Lyons, James Minihan, JP O'Brien, Sean O'Toole, Ryan Scullion and team manager, Brendan O'Connor, who travel to Belfast this weekend with the British hurling team to take part in the Ulster Youth Games. The team will play five matches against Cavan, Donegal, Fermanagh, Monaghan and Tyrone before returning to London on Saturday evening. We wish them and all the squad the best of luck.

Mixed fortunes for minors
8th May 2006: The minors got their league campaign off to a good start on Friday night with a hard-earned victory over Erin go Bragh in Birmingham by 2-6 to 2-4. In conrast, however, the team suffered their first loss of points in two years when only 7 of Friday's team turned up to the match against the Mitchels on Sunday and we were forced to give a walkover. A challenge match was held with the help of a few 'guest' players from several clubs who happened to be there (cheers guys!) which the Kilburn side won comfortably by 2-11 to 0-5.
