June/July 2007

Seniors make it a double celebration
2nd July 2007: Yesterday's tally of silverware was taken to two when the Seniors added the Collins Cup with a 1-15 to 0-10 victory over Fr Murphys at Ruislip. Unbeaten yet this year in all competitions the team is looking strong earning this win over the Murphys with eight points to spare and showing some great individual and team play. Following this win the team will be eager to continue this form in the upcoming championship campaign and the remainder of the league to ensure that the Collins Cup is not the only trophy in the cabinet come November >>> photos

U12s take league title
1st July 2007: The underage management are celebrating today following our first U12 title in four years. Kilburn Gaels' U12 'A' team put on a marvellous display of hurling at Greenford to defeat Erin go Bragh in their semi-final and Sean Treacys in the final to get their hands on the league shield. With no other 'B' team in the competition Kilburn Gaels' 'Bs' played against the losers of both semi-finals suffering a narrow loss to Erin go Bragh and taking victory over defending champions Granuaile. Great credit is due to the thirty-three U12 players who contested the three blitzes over the past couple of months to get to this stage, with the 'A' and 'B' teams losing just three games between them. With such a strong panel and considerable strength in numbers the U12s will go into the championship confident of success >>> photos
