June 2006

JHC update
25th June 2006: The Junior team maintained their unbeaten run in the championship courtesy of a one point victory over St Gabriels 'B' yesterday. Despite the absence of seven first team players and having to field twelve players under the age of 20 in the starting lineout, the Juniors produced a great display of hurling and held firm to win by a scoreline of 3-6 to 2-8.

Feile na nGael 2006
19th June 2006: Congratulations to Dale Gillies, Martin Scanlon, Ryan McManus and Eirean Quilkin who represented London at U14 grade in the Feile over the weekend in Cork, plus Nicky, Roisin and Zoey Heston who took part in the camogie competition with Erin go Bragh. All seven did the club proud with both their performances and in the way they conducted themselves both on and off the field. The whole squad enjoyed a great weekend - milking cows(!), exploring the West Cork surroundings, playing pitch-and-putt and playing some great hurling before rounding off the trip with a visit to Ennis to be guests and meet the players at the Clare vs Limerick qualifier. Well done to all involved!

U12 League Final
10th June 2006: The U12s had there first attempt at silverware this year with the league final against Granuaille today in Greenford. They got off to the perfect start dominating the opening five minutes and taking the lead with a point but were unable to capitalise on this score as Granuaille worked their way back into the game. They made good headway in the second half to reduce the deficit, but a seventh goal from Granuaille killed off the game in their favour as they took their first U12 title. The Kilburn players did themselevs justice, however, and will have a lot more to give come the championship matches in July.

Great start to championship campaigns
4th June 2006: Both the Senior and Junior teams got their championship campaigns of to the perfect start as they took the spoils at Ruislip today. The Seniors defeated Sean Treacys by 2-12 to 1-12 and the Juniors beat Clann na Gael 4-12 to 3-12 with an excellent display from a very young side which included 9 U21 players.
