| Senior championship update |
7th August 2006: Following defeat in two successive rounds of the Senior championship Kilburn Gaels have left themselves with a bit of work to do in their remaining two matches in order to ensure passage to the semi finals this year. Against St Gabriel's the team struggled to find a rhythm or a free taker that could rise to the occasion, missing a number of frees from close range to lose by four points. Two weeks later against Robert Emmetts the side got off to a good start were scoring well and looked hopeful of claiming the points. As the second half wore on however, the pace of the Emmetts forwards and their rate of scoring proved too much for the Kilburn team to handle as they succumbed to the pressure of the Emmetts attack to lose by a three point margin... more>>> |

| Juniors suffer first defeat of the season |
| 6th August 2006: The Junior side were dealt their first defeat of the year at the hands of Bros Pearse yesterday at Ruislip. Despite having taken the lead with a point from Brian Malone in the opening few minutes Kilburn failed to make much of an impression on the Pearses' defence registering only one more score in the first half - a point from Jimmy Delaney and found themselves struggling to keep in touch. The second half saw Pearses register score after score with Kilburn's reply coming in the form of just a single point to lose by 2-10 to 0-3. Disappointing thought defeat was the team can take comfort in knowing that they had already qualified for the semi finals and also in the knowledge that they would be at full strength the next day having been minus seven of their starting team. |
