Kilburn Gaels Hurling Club is based in NW London. The senior club was founded in 1997 as an amalgamation of the two former London based clubs 'Desmonds' and 'Glen Rovers'. The juvenile club was established some years earlier in 1991. Both clubs are affiliated to the London GAA Board.

The senior club competed initially in the Intermediate Championship. Winning the league and championship in 2000, the club was promoted to the senior grade in 2001. Since promotion, the senior club has progressed well reaching the championship semi-finals in four successive seasons, 2003 - 2006. In 2006 the Senior team made the breakthrough into the Senior finals in both the league and championship competitions, finishing as runners-up in both. The club has enjoyed success in two cup competitions since joining the Senior ranks of London hurling, namely the Collins Cup in 2003 and the Ryan Cup in 2005.

The juvenile club first came together when Mick O'Dwyer started his Saturday morning training sessions for youngsters in Gladstone Park, where the club continues to train to this day. Early days saw the club travelling to Birmingham in search of fixtures. This changed with the establishment of a few other underage clubs in the capital and the first London championships were held in 1994. Kilburn Gaels has distinguished itself with many championship victories over the years.

In 2004 the decision was taken to amalgamate the senior and juvenile clubs with the election of the new committee in 2005. To promote the development of hurling in London and provide for our ever expanding club, Kilburn Gaels entered a 'B' team into the London championship in 2005. This team will provide a progression from minor to senior level hurling for our underage talent.
