Statement of Aims
The Club shall exist primarily to promote the playing of hurling in North West London
This shall be achieved through the running of juvenile and adult hurling teams taking part in the competitions organised by the London County Board and the Great Britain Provincial Council of the GAA
The Club shall also seek to promote the playing of hurling in schools and shall support and collaborate with the London Schools Board to this end
The Club shall be a non-profit making organisation staffed entirely by volunteers. Members reasonable expenses may be reimbursed at the discretion of the Management Committee
Membership of the Club shall be open to any person committed to furthering the aims set out in this Statement and espousing the aims and objectives set out in the GAA Rule Book. All members shall be bound by the rules and regulations of the GAA
Annual membership fees, at a rate to be determined at the AGM, shall be payable by all members over 18 years, except where such members are still in full-time education
Arrangements for the Management of the Club
The Club shall hold its Annual General Meeting in February/March each year. Advice of the date and venue shall be published in the Irish World/Irish Post two weeks in advance
Attendance at the AGM shall be open to all members and to parents of juvenile members. All members over 15 year of age shall be eligible to vote on motions at the AGM, and to be elected to the Management Committee or as Officers of the Club
The Club shall, each year, elect the following Officers – President, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, PRO. The Club shall also appoint a Life President and grant honorary vice president status to persons who have given distinguished service to the Club.
The elected Officers shall, together with at least 6 other members elected at the AGM, constitute a Management Committee to manage the Club's operations. Delegates shall be appointed to represent the Club at County Board meetings
Major decisions about the Club's affairs shall be taken at the AGM. The day to day affairs of the Club shall be managed by the Management Committee, which shall meet as required, but no less frequently than every two months during the playing season
No fees or subscriptions shall be payable by juvenile members for the ordinary activities of the Club. Hurleys, helmets and kit for juvenile players shall be supplied by the Club, which shall also cover the cost of pitch fees and other running expenses for this age group
The Club shall fund its activities through a combination of corporate sponsorship and its own fundraising events. The Club shall also take advantage of any grant aid opportunities available through local or national government agencies
The Club shall encourage parental involvement in supporting the work of the Club, assisting with transport to matches and supporting fundraising projects
The Club shall be affiliated to the London County Board of the GAA, to which the Club's assets shall pass in the event of the winding-up of the Club without any successor organisation assuming its functions
