Cathal Forde - Funeral
service -
Friday April 13th
The club would like to
thank everyone who came along to Cathal's
funeral service on Friday night in Cricklewood.
It was a very emotional occasion for everyone
involved with the club and for Cathal's family
members who were present. It was great to see so
many from across the London GAA community
and beyond joining us as we paid our
respects to one of our clubmen. Cathal was flown
back to Ireland Saturday morning and was buried
after midday mass in Gort on Sunday. Some of the
players and committee members also travelled for
the funeral in Ireland. Gone from us in this
life but never forgotten. RIP Cathal.
RIP Cathal Forde
Is it with great regret that we announce the
untimely passing of Cathal Forde who died last
night (April 10th) at the age of 28. Cathal was
corner back on the Kilburn Gaels team that won
the clubs first county title in 2010 and was
very popular and well liked with everyone in the
club. A native of Gort in County Galway, he came
to London just under 3 years ago and has been a
regular fixture in the senior side since he came
along with his brother Niall. He is a former
student of GMIT and was working as a site
engineer here in London. Everyone at the club is
deeply saddened and shocked by what has
happened and our thoughts at this time are with
his girlfriend Sheila and the Forde family. Ar
dheis de go raibh a anam dilis.
